TL3018 Hospitality group trip to Poland

UCLan Hospitality Management undergraduates recently visited Poland as part of their studies.

The trip began with a visit to the Wyższa Szkola Turystyki i Ekologii (WSTiE) University, with the students given an overview of the facilities before meeting their Polish counterparts.

The group also looked at Tourism and Hospitality in the Sucha Beskidzka region, particularly focusing on religious tourism. They visited Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, the Monastery of Bernardine Monks and took part in workshops with WSTiE students – exchanging opinions on hospitality developments, tourism impacts, marketing and the application of theories into practice.

The second half of the trip saw the group head to Krakow to visit a selection of tourism attractions and hotels, before traveling to Zakopane to view the spectacular Tatry Mountains. The final port of call was Krupowki, Zakopane’s main tourist street, where the group scoured a huge selection of souvenir shops and sampled the local cuisine.
