Students enjoy team-building trip

UCLan Hospitality Management undergraduates took part in a team-building residential alongside students from our Tourism and Event courses.

The 65 strong group travelled to Tyn Dwr Outdoor Centre to look at teamwork and leadership styles in practice. Activities included a range of outdoor problem-solving challenges, followed by a Belbin Team Role exercise to help them self-analyse themselves and their roles throughout the day.

On the second day the group were allowed to choose from activities such as rope climbing, canoeing and rock climbing.

Student Helen Burrows said the trip was a great success: "I really enjoyed the two days, especially working in a team on the problem-solving challenges. The instructors at Tyn Dwr were fantastic and really encouraged us into achieving what we thought we couldn’t achieve."
